“MONCHROME SEA WITH BLACK AND GOLD CLIFFS”
Underneath the overcast sky, shadows danced on the waves that crashed against the rocks below, each surge a testament to nature’s raw fury.  There was a bittersweet mixture of longing and heartache.  This place had always been my sanctuary, a stolen refuge from the world’s merciless pace.  A gust of wind  brought with it the scent of salt and decay, the ocean’s breath.  It teased my senses.

My eyes traced the golden shoreline, where the water met the sands with an almost affectionate sigh.  It was as if the ocean itself was torn between its violent nature and the desire to caress the earth it battered incessantly.

Now, the wild waves roared as if in sympathy or rebellion.  The horizon was a line of challenge, daring one to leap, to let go of the burden carried.  This too raw coast, with its deep secrets and untamed spirit, would always be a place of contradictions.  It was beautiful, yet brutal—a place where the strength of the waves could prompt a resurgence of strength within oneself.  One could feel it just by being present here.

Standing at the precipice, I whisper – “I’m still here.”  And with that, I was turned away,  from the treacherous edge, heading back to the world above.  The deep dark carbon coast had given me one last gift:  the strength to continue forward, even if it meant walking alone once again
